Welcome! This forum is for the discussion of issues relating to Tamworth town centre. For background, see my town centre article. I would welcome your views and comments on this issue, especially what you think Tamworth Borough Council should be doing regarding our town centre, both right now and in the future.

Hello Bruce
i would be very interested in re -introducing a group of like minded people to work in a think tank type of way to look how we can all try to help Tamworth Borough Council revitalise the town centre
In Tim Cleggs day there was a group called the Town centre partnership formed but alas it was made up of people who liked to talk about things but seem not to do very much
i think its in everyones interest if we can all work together to try and create a vibrant town centre and i believe there is enough talent out there to make some nice things happen if there is the will

Hello Bruce,
Tina today has sent you an e-mail about the Elton tribute which we had wanted to present under the canopy. You will see from that mail there are now issues about licensing this which i find totally frustrating. We had wanted to use the space for a feelgood factor promo to let the people of Tamworth see that perhaps the canopy space can be an asset and add this to the fact I had got the artiste to appear at no cost whatsoever to the council.
I understand that we have to comply with these rules, but my God why wasn't all this taken care of when the thing was erected, considering all the PRESS about how the canopy space can be used to promote the town and local groups and local artistes.
I am sure you, like me, will want to ask questions on this issue. None of this has put us off trying to work along side the council to make the space a success but you can understand how sometimes we wonder what on earth is going on.
